keep a poem in your pocket 
and a picture in your head 
and you'll never feel lonely 
at when your'e in bed 

the little poem will sing you to you
the little picture will bring

 to you a dozen dreams to dance to you 

at night when your're in bed

So-

Homework sits on top of Saturday 
squashing Saturday flat 
Homework has the smell of Sunday 
homework's very fat 

Heavy books and piles of paper 
answers I don't know 
Saturday evenings almost finished,
now I'm going to go 

Do my homework in the kitchen
maybe just a snack,
Then I 'll sit down and 
and start soon as I run back 

For some sandwich cookies 
then I'll really do 
All that homework in a minute 
first I'll see what's new

Show they have got on television
in the living room
Everyone's laughing 
but misery and gloom 

And a full refrigerator 
at where I'm at 
I'll just have another sandwich
